On September 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM, the press conference for the presentation of the project “A Piccoli Passi” took place, funded under DDG No. 254/2023 as part of the Public Notice for funding projects from the resources of the PNRR – Mission 5 – Component 3 – Investment 3 – Structured socio-educational interventions to combat educational poverty in the South in support of the Third – Agency for Territorial Cohesion.
“A Piccoli Passi” is a project aimed at addressing the issues of educational poverty in the project’s partner municipalities: Ragusa, Santa Croce Camerina, Monterosso, Giarratana, and Chiaramonte Gulfi.
The project was designed with the goal of promoting equal educational opportunities for children aged 0-6 years, attending nurseries and preschools in district 44.
The conference began with an address by Pinuccia Raniolo, President of the Medi Care cooperative, the lead organization. The floor was then handed over to Nello Aprile, project coordinator.
They were followed by greetings from representatives of the authorities of the municipalities in health and social district No. 44, including Mayor of Ragusa, the lead municipality, Attorney Giuseppe Cassì, and Dr. Elvira Adamo, Councilor for Inclusion Policies, Social Services, and Equal Opportunities.
During the Press Conference, the project was presented, including its objectives, planned activities, proposed actions, and the role of each partner.
For the Paideia Italia cooperative, responsible for training, Dr. Tonino Solarino, presented the cross-cutting training program that will involve operators, teachers, and parents.
The Social Cooperative Filotea, responsible for mediation, will be in charge of activities related to cultural mediation and animation services for foreign minors and families, with a specific focus on the roles of cultural mediators.
Furthermore, discussions were held on synergies and possible collaboration with the educational institutions involved in the project.
To support the initiative, both the website www.progettoapiccolipassi.it, which also contains additional materials, and the APP “APPiccolipassi” were presented.
Through the latter, parents will have access to a service directory for municipalities in health and social district 44, as well as information and the ability to book services provided by the project with just a click.
